 Frequently Asked Questions

Do I wash my hair on the day of the wedding?
Your hair will need to be as clean as possible so I suggest that you wash your hair either the night before or the morning of the wedding. Your hair should have very little product on and NO Straightening Irons should be used. This also applies to the trial.

How should I prep my face for makeup application?
Have clean moisturized skin. Having left over makeup from the day before takes extra time to remove and causes stress on the skin.

How soon should I book my consultation and trial run?
While some brides book six months or more in advance, we suggest you book your consultation and trial run no later than three to four months before your wedding day.

How long does a trial take?
Trials typically take about two hours, to ensure your wants and needs are met. Hair only or makeup only trials take about one hour.

What should I bring to my trial?
Images of hair and makeup inspiration ideas are a useful jumping off point for our stylists to create your wedding day look. Any hair accessories or veil you may have are also helpful to create your complete bridal look. Also a picture of your dress is always great. As for guests, please avoid bringing more than two people because not only is our studio small, but sometimes too many opinions can be overwhelming!

If I’m happy at the trial, what is the process for booking?
In order to secure your date and stylists we require a $100 deposit for your services. The deposit goes towards the total amount of due on your wedding day.

What makeup products do you use?
Our makeup artists use professional cosmetics that are held to the highest standards. A bride’s makeup needs to be sweat, tear and smudge proof as well as camera ready. Each of our artists have personal preferences on their cosmetics of choice, but brands such as Make Up Forever, IT Cosmetics, MAC, Nars, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, Chanel and Laura Mercier are staples in our kits. We would also be happy to apply any cosmetics that you personally own.

What is the difference between airbrush and traditional makeup? “Traditional” makeup is the process of custom mixing foundation and using brushes and other tools to apply the products. Traditional makeup is the easiest way to control the amount of coverage for your special skin needs. When you think “traditional,” think liquid, cream and powder foundations. Airbrush makeup is applied using a “gun”, which breaks down the makeup into small particles and shoots it out using compressed air. Airbrush makeup is quick and is great for use in tattoo coverage. Airbrush makeup is good for those who want light coverage to medium coverage. It is a great option for summer brides when heat and humidity are high.

When will I receive the wedding day timeline?
A typical time to receive your timeline is 30 days prior to the wedding day. If pictures are being done prior to the wedding it is best to ask your photographer the time of there arrival to ensure you are ready when they get there. Getting ready pictures means you are ready and they are staged pictures. I try to make it so that we are in the process of touch ups during the time of "getting ready" photos. This looks the best for picture and videography.

Do you provide false lashes?
Yes, we provide lashes and they are included in our pricing. I carry kiss and ardell lashes. If you have a set you love please feel free to bring them.
